Rochelle grew up in Plano, Texas, and likes to say that she's Texan by birth but a Razorback by the grace of God. She attended the University of Arkansas on a basketball scholarship and played on the Arkansas Razorbacks women’s basketball team from 1991-1995. It’s hard to believe but some of the residents at Grand Village remember her playing… back in the day!
After graduating from the U of A with a B.A. in Psychology, she went back to Texas to attend graduate school at Southern Methodist University. After that, she returned to Arkansas where she has lived for the past 18 years. Rochelle currently lives in Huntsville with her husband, Scott Johnson, and her fur baby, Tank the cat.
Her Long-Term Care Work History: Rochelle has been working in the long-term care industry for 18 years. In 2005, she started as an administrator in training with Northport Health Services of Arkansas. She became a licensed nursing home administrator in 2006 and took her first home in Paris, Arkansas. After a year in Paris, Rochelle transferred back to Northwest Arkansas, eventually becoming the regional director for NHS overseeing the operations of the five facilities in Arkansas. In 2019, she left NHS to work as the administrator at North Hills Life Care and Rehab with Reliance in Fayetteville. Then, the opportunity to be the new Chief Operations Officer at Grand Village arose, and it was something that she couldn't pass up!
Why She Loves Working with Senior Living Communities: Rochelle holds that GV's seniors should be treasured, and she loves being able to have a positive impact on their lives!
Her Vision for Grand Village, or What Makes It Special: To Rochelle, Grand Village is a beautiful facility, but she holds that the community of wonderful residents and staff are what make it so special! She wants Grand Village to be the premier retirement community in Northwest Arkansas. The plan is to expand and add on private Villas and a new skilled nursing facility close to the campus. Currently GV has partnered with Pinnacle In-Home Care and Access Medical Clinic to provide assistance and easy access to medical care to allow the residents to age in place. This plan will allow GV to have an advanced practice registered nurse four days a week and a physician one day a week to make house calls for the residents. In addition to the medical coverage, GV has Pinnacle In-Home Care providing 24/7 help to the residents that need a little more assistance. She is excited for the future and new opportunities for Grand Village to grow.
