Grand Village at Clear Creek

Notes From
Our Residents.

David Williams

I am the son of the Williams in 328. I spent the week here with my father while his wife has been out of town. I’ve always known the staff to be considerate and friendly, but this week I was able to see it from a closer and longer perspective. Each day I’ve observed your folks going out of their way to be kind and helpful. They smile a lot, and it is clear they care about the people who live here. I’m talking about everyone, and I wish I knew more of their names. I will point out Carnell in the dining hall, Heather and Virginia on the floor staff, and Serena at the front desk for well-deserved kudos. Each of them has taken extra time and paid kind and heartfelt attention to my father this week. The facility runs well and is always clean and attractive. It’s the people, though, that stand out for Grand Village. Please convey my appreciation and heartfelt applause for their efforts. My family appreciates being able to relax knowing they are in a safe, welcoming place.

I’m very pleased to be able to share my thoughts about how wonderful Grand Village is for the people of Northwest Arkansas. After my father passed in 2015, my mother lived alone with her dog. At 89 herself she was still somewhat independent, but did miss interaction with others, and did need assistance with certain activities of daily living, which required people to come to her home. We had looked at a few other facilities in the area but nothing compared (not even close) to Grand Village at Clear Creek. The others, for a variety of reasons, I just couldn’t consider. But we had no hesitation about moving her to Grand Village. She now also has Home Helpers to assist with those items that she needs, but still able to live independently within a beautiful new facility. And her dog, Albert, is happy and very popular as well with her new friends that live there too. She enjoys having all meals provided, taking walks with her dog around the property, and sitting on the porch with her new friends in the evenings. I hope that Grand Village is a blessing to others, as it is to our family.

Having our father at Grand Village has given us peace of mind. Knowing that he is in a safe and secure place with such caring people is so reassuring. He was one of the first to move in because he had so eagerly anticipated the opening. Since he has moved there, he has adjusted very quickly because of the welcoming staff and fellow residents. They have already formed a close bond.

Of course the facility is beautiful and the meals delicious, but more importantly is that our dad is happy there. There are so many activities offered that it is easy to stay busy if you want to.

Our father lives in the main building, but there are also cottages for those who are more independent. We feel he is very safe where he is, and someone is on duty at all times in case there is an emergency or he needs extra help. It is clear that a lot of experience and planning went into developing Grand Village. It has resulted in a wonderful place to call home.

As one of the first residents moving to Grand Village at Clear Creek, we have come to know the “grand” in the name in more than a title but of way of life. Living at Grand Village is indeed grand living. Everything about Grand Village is grand — the lifestyle, the facilities, the residents, the staff, the administration, the food, the social events, the location, the hospitality, the peace of mind. Giving up our home was a difficult decision but the moment the moving van arrived at Grand Village we experienced a grand welcome that made us feel we were at home. We wake up each morning feeling so blessed to be members of the Grand Village family and recommend our new home to all who are traveling their senior journey of life. Grand Village is now our way of grand living for which we are so grateful.

Your beautiful new facility appears to have included every single amenity or service that anyone could envision or desire. Our service in our church has occasioned our presence in a number of retirement communities and care facilities, both private and church-related, in both Virginia and more recently in Texas. Some of these have been quite elaborate. But we have not seen anything to equal or surpass what you have done at Grand Village. It’s beauty, simplicity, and completeness are truly amazing.

Beyond that, what really stood out at every point was the unfailing attitude, warmth, friendliness, and helpfulness of everyone we had contact with including ownership, staff, and even residents. There was truly an atmosphere there that made one feel “this is a good place to be!”

You are to be congratulated and we wanted you to know how much we enjoyed and appreciated our time there. Yout provision of apartments for visitors gives new meaning to the word “Hospitality”!
